What Sonny House Is All About

Sonny House Cafe, a program designed to teach students with severe cognitive disabilities real-world job skills in a lunch cafe setting.  The cafe will have tables and chairs, podium, menu board, lunch trays, uniform shirts and all the necessary equipment to run a lunch cafe.  

The students will practice daily, learning different restaurant skills including:  hosting/greeting, serving customers, prepping the kitchen, and other duties to prepare to host a luncheon for family and friends. 

Sonny House Dog Treats, a program designed to teach students with severe cognitive disabilities the steps in reading recipes, measuring and mixing ingredients, baking and packaging dog treats.  

Sonny House Retail, a program which teaches basic retail skills (stocking shelves with products, folding/hanging clothes sorting by size and color, running a cash register making basic sales and giving change).

And basic office skills. (sorting mail, shredding paper, addressing, putting labels on envelopes), housekeeping skills (vacuuming, dusting), gardening (planting, maintaining, and harvesting vegetables)
